The BGSN hosts semesterly events to build community, foster friendships, and support mentorship among members.
Fall Semester
Each Fall, we welcome new and returning members. Most recently, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (MCFSP), we hosted a presentation for international graduate students on cultural integration and professional development in Canada.

Winter Semester
Every Winter, we’re thrilled to bring our community together to celebrate Black History Month—a joyful gathering filled with great food, lively conversation, and celebration.
Summer Semester
Each Summer, we partner with the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS) department to host a pre-arrival webinar, offering insights and resources to support incoming Black graduate students as they prepare for their move to Vancouver.
